The Texas Invitational Art Show and Sale – Opening reception is February 19th at 5:30 PM at the Cook Center at Navarro College. Please join us in recognizing these fantastic local artists that understand Texas better than anyone. The Show will run through March 27th to give everyone time to enjoy the gallery (and maybe take home your favorite!).
LHOn March 1, 2025, the Pearce Museum at Navarro College will host a special event to commemorate the closing of the 160th anniversary of the end of the American Civil War. The Civil War collection holds over 17,000 documents and artifacts belonging to those who experienced that tragic time in American history. This event will involve volunteer reenactors portraying the lives of these individuals and demonstrate their perspectives through first-person interpretation.
Come out to the museum and learn how we preserve and interpret as accurately as possible the history of the American Civil War and the people involved – North and South, men and women, children and adults, leaders and common citizens.
This event runs from 10AM to 4PM and will involve musket demonstrations at noon and 3PM. The museum is home to several impressive, permanent collections of Civil War history, western arts, and the Hunter-Gatherers of the Blackland Prairies. All are welcome.
